UNAVETS, the platform of veterinary centres belonging to the international group Marconi, makes its appearance in the Spanish veterinary market. The objectives are the acquisition of veterinary centres to provide them with the marketing, management, training and equipment resources necessary to enhance their excellent service and profitability.
UNAVETS allows the centres to maintain their image and structure, ensuring they can focus on "quality medicine", delegating the rest of the tasks to the central services. UNAVETS is made up of professionals with experience in the small animal clinic sector.
Regarding the Marconi Group, it is an integrated private investment management company, with a strong focus on the deployment of M&A platforms. It specialises in investment, asset incubation and development, portfolio management for value enhancement and focuses on operational improvement and repositioning.
Among the professionals who will join the UNAVETS team, Manuel Amador will be in charge of operations. Amador has 30 years of experience in companies such as Pfizer and Zoetis.
Alongside Amador, Jaime Díaz will be in charge of marketing and alliances. He has experience in different multinational corporations, and recently was the manager of the Asociación Madrileña de Veterinarios de Animales de Compañía (AMVAC).
Miguel Casado, who has impressive experience in the veterinary sector for brands such as Royal Canin, will be responsible for the development of the platform.
Finally, UNAVETS has two partners: Anne Lo, a veterinarian certified by the University of Edinburgh, who has a PhD in pathology from the University of Cambridge; and Junko Lo Sheehan (managing partner), who has a background in investment banking and works as a senior advisor of private equity investments.
