Hospital Veterinario VetSet Joins OneVet (UNAVETS GROUP)

Hospital Veterinário VetSet, founded in 1996 by Dr. Cristina Lemos Costa, a reference hospital with a strategic position in the region of Setúbal, in Palmela, has just joined OneVet (part of the Iberian platform, the UNAVETS Group). With this integration, OneVet reinforces its presence in the southern region of Portugal, in an area of high population density and demand for differentiated veterinary services.

The Hospital Veterinário VetSet, a unit designed and built from scratch to house a veterinary hospital, has 800 sqm, a private parking lot and good accessibility. The Hospital has as pillars of its growth the respect for its clients and veterinary colleagues, team good spirit, the concern for professional veterinary practices combined with continuous training, and the well-being and health of the animal.

The practice stands out for its close collaboration with more than 30 veterinary units, that refer cases to the Hospital every day. The facilities are comprised of 5 consultation rooms, separate waiting areas for dogs and cats, an operating room, an X-ray room, an ultrasound room and inpatient hospitalization area.

The VetSet team is a wide team of 19 people, with advanced specialties in surgery, internal medicine and ultrasound that will now be supported by OneVet's local shared services team.  The team will also be further supported by OneAcademy, a continuing education veterinary learning platform, reinforcing its resources in differentiated areas.

Cristina Lemos Costa, Clinical Director and Founder of Hospital Veterinário VetSet, says: " In our 27-year journey with VetSet, which started as a small clinic with 50m2, and fifteen years later became the VetSet hospital, we felt the need to take another step forward and decided to join the great OneVet family (UNAVETS Group). With this partnership, we intend not only to benefit from a more professionalized management, offer more training and share experiences with our employees, but above all improve our responsiveness, the breadth and the quality of services we offer to our patients. We are grateful for the support and dedication of our employees, some of whom have been part of the team since day one, and for the trust that our customers and colleagues who refer us, have placed in the work of our team. Only with their encouragement was it possible for us to venture into this new stage, in which we will commit to maintain a differentiated and excellent veterinary medicine service."

Guilherme Assis, Executive Director of ONEVET, says: “The VetSet Veterinary Hospital is a reference in the Southern Region and has a path of sustained growth over more than 25 years, a reflection of its dedicated team led by Dr. Cristina Lemos Costa. This is a very important acquisition for the OneVet Group, which undeniably reinforces the Group's position in the Region, where the Group has been aiming to expand its presence for some time. We have the support of Dr. Cristina Lemos Costa, veterinarian and unit leader with extensive experience in the sector, to continue to grow the VetSet Veterinary Hospital and also contribute to the development of OneVet”.
