UNAVETS supports families and animals in Ukraine

The situation in Ukraine continues to be devastating and the UNAVETS and OneVet teams wanted to contribute in some way to help relocated families make a new start.

In April we sent a bus loaded with different materials for animals such as feed, blankets, carriers, sanitary supplies and much more, which travelled from Portugal to the Polish-Ukrainian border.

But the work of our partners and volunteers did not end there. On its return, the bus came back to Portugal with Ukrainian families and pets in search of new opportunities. Families are now in temporary housing under the kind care of a specialized institution as they get resettled in Portugal.

We hope this heart-breaking situation comes to an end as soon as possible, and we show all our support to the Ukrainian people and families that have been affected.

We thank the collaboration of Portugal Banco de Sangue Animal and OneVet for making this solidarity work possible. We especially thank the giving volunteers who accompanied and organised the 32 Ukrainian women and children (and pets) from Poland to Portugal.
